Summit Rinjani Trek 4 Days 3 Nights – Sembalun to Torean (3,726 m)
The 4 Days 3 Nights Summit Rinjani Trek is one of the most rewarding and complete ways to explore the beauty of Mount Rinjani National Park. Beginning from the Sembalun entrance gate and ending at Torean Village, this itinerary takes you across some of the most diverse and dramatic landscapes on the mountain — from open savannah hills and volcanic ridges to lush jungle valleys and the peaceful shores of Segara Anak Lake.
Your journey starts on the classic Sembalun trail, known for its wide-open grasslands and steady ascent toward the crater rim. On summit day, you will climb to the peak at 3,726 meters, one of Indonesia’s most iconic viewpoints, offering a spectacular sunrise over Lombok, Bali, Sumbawa, and the deep-blue waters of the crater lake below.
After descending to Segara Anak Lake and relaxing in the natural hot springs, the trek continues down through the Torean Valley, where cliffs, rivers, waterfalls, and tropical forest create a scenic and refreshing finale.
With four full days on the mountain, this program provides a more comfortable pace than shorter summit itineraries. It offers enough time for acclimatization, recovery, mindful trekking, and appreciating every major highlight of the volcano.
This route is ideal for trekkers who want a complete, immersive, and beautifully balanced Rinjani adventure — combining challenge, comfort, and unforgettable landscapes from start to finish.

Trail Conditions — What to Expect on the Sembalun–Torean Route
The 4 Days 3 Nights Summit Rinjani trek via Sembalun and Torean offers one of the most complete and varied trekking experiences on the mountain. Trekkers will encounter a wide range of terrain and landscapes, requiring both physical endurance and mental focus.
Day 1 – Sembalun Route
The trail begins across wide open savanna and gently rolling grasslands. While the ascent feels manageable at first, the route becomes increasingly demanding after Pos 3. The final section toward Sembalun Crater Rim includes steep volcanic hills known as the Seven Hills, with loose soil and strong sun exposure.
Day 2 – Summit Push & Lake Descent
Summit day is the most physically challenging part of the trek. The climb to the summit involves very steep volcanic gravel and loose sand, making footing difficult and requiring slow, controlled movement. The descent to Segara Anak Lake is rocky and technical, with narrow paths and uneven terrain.
Day 3 – Segara Anak to Torean Valley
This section transitions into a more scenic but still demanding trail. Trekkers follow river paths, rocky gorges, and lush jungle corridors, passing waterfalls and steep cliff walls. The terrain is varied and can be slippery, especially after rain.
Day 4 – Final Descent to Torean Village
The final day features a long but rewarding descent through the Torean Valley. The trail includes forest paths, river crossings, and gradual downhill sections, offering a refreshing contrast to the volcanic landscapes above.
