Day 0 — Pick-Up and Overnight in Senaru
Rinjani Volcano Escape provides free pick-up from many areas across Lombok. Depending on your location, our driver will transfer you safely to Senaru Village, where you will stay overnight before the trek begins the next morning.
Pick-Up Areas and Time Options

- Senggigi / Mataram: 10:00–11:00 AM or 04:00 PM
- Tetebatu / Pringgasela: 09:00–10:00 AM

Recommendation

Accommodation Before the Trek
You will stay in a comfortable private room in Senaru with mountain views, a private bathroom, and breakfast included. Your guide will meet you in the evening for a briefing and equipment check.
Day 01. Senaru – Torean Village – Segara Anak Lake
- Breakfast at our Restaurant at 6 am ( Rinjani Volcano Escape ) or at the hotel in Senaru
- Registration at the RTC ( Rinjani Trekking Centre, Torean 585m )
- Prepare for trekking at 07.00 – 08.00 AM
- Walking in the open views for 30-40 minutes to the gate at 779 m with green plants of coffee trees, Bamboo, etc
- After passing, walk 30 -40 minutes more to the gate of the tropical rain forest, 15 minutes for a short break.
- Continue walking through the jungle.
- Walk for 1 hour 15 minutes to POS 1 ( 821m ), seeing black monkeys and big trees on the trail.
- A short break at Post I.
- Climb up for 2 hours to POS 2 ( 1.078 m)
- Pass the tropical forest, Break at POS 2, and prepare your lunch, fresh fruits, and soft drinks with our Guide and porter.
- After lunch, we continued walking up to the post 3 route passed by a beautiful waterfall ( Penimbungan waterfall 1,299m), and took about 2 hours walk.
- After a break at Penimbungan waterfall and post 3, we continue walking up to post 4 ( Babanan Propok 1,585m )
- From Pos 4, we will walk down the hill for 2 hours.

Day 02: Segara Anak Lake – Crater Rim Sembalun
- Breakfast and enjoy the view of Segara Anak Lake
- Prepare to climb up to the crater rim of Sembalun after lunch, 3 hours up and down trails
- Camping at the crater rim of Sembalun. Enjoy the sunset over the Lake, the summit, and the view of Sembalun village.

Day 3 – Summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 m) – Descent to Sembalun
- At 2:30 AM, we wake for a light snack and prepare for the summit push. Starting around 3:00 AM, we hike in the dark with headlamps under a sky full of stars. The trail is steep, loose, and challenging, especially the final 500 meters before the summit, but your guide will support you step by step.
- After approximately 3–4 hours of climbing, you’ll reach the summit just in time for sunrise. The view is surreal — Bali’s Mount Agung rising above the ocean, Sumbawa Island in the distance, and the caldera lake far below. This is your moment of triumph.
- After photos and a short rest, we return to the camp at Sembalun Rim for a well-earned breakfast. Then we begin the descent through the vast Sembalun savannah. The terrain is open and dry, with rolling hills and soft grasslands. We stop for lunch at one of the rest points and finally reach Sembalun village between 3:00 and 4:00 PM. From there, our driver will take you back to Senaru or your next destination.
