Take a roughly one-hour car journey from Labuan Bajo followed by a short local boat ride to this stunning, secluded cave featuring a crystal-clear saltwater pool where you can swim. The best time to see the pool illuminated by sunlight is usually between 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM.

1. How To Reach Komodo by Flying to Labuan Bajo

Flying to Komodo International Airport (LBJ) is the fastest and most convenient way to reach Komodo Island. The airport is located close to Labuan Bajo town and only a short drive from the harbor, where all Komodo tours begin.

Direct flights operate from:

  • Bali (Denpasar)
  • Jakarta
  • Surabaya
  • Kupang

Flight times range from one to two and a half hours, depending on the departure city. Airlines serving Labuan Bajo include Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Batik Air, Lion Air, AirAsia, and TransNusa.

Morning arrivals often allow travelers to join a one-day Komodo tour on the same day.

2. Flights From Lombok to Labuan Bajo

Lombok International Airport (LOP) has seasonal and limited direct flights to Komodo Airport (LBJ). These flights are generally operated by Wings Air and Lion Air Group.

Flight duration is approximately one hour. Because the route is not available daily, travelers should always check current schedules. If direct flights are unavailable, the best alternative route is:

Lombok → Bali → Labuan Bajo.

Total travel time ranges between 2.5 and 3.5 hours, depending on transit.
