Upon arrival at Minangkabau International Airport, you will be greeted by our team and begin the scenic drive to Kerinci. The journey takes approximately 7–8 hours, passing through coastal areas, mountains, rice terraces, rural villages, and lush tropical landscapes.
Along the way, you may stop for refreshments and photos. Upon arrival in Kerinci, check into your guesthouse, enjoy dinner, and receive a full briefing about the Mount Kerinci trek, including route, timing, safety, and necessary preparations.
Accommodation: Guesthouse in Kerinci (double room, hot shower, Wi-Fi)
Day 2 – Trek to Shelter 3 Campsite (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After breakfast, take a short 30–40 minute drive to the Mount Kerinci trailhead at 1,800 meters. The trek begins through dense tropical rainforest filled with birds, monkeys, orchids, and moss-covered trees.
You will pass Post 1, Post 2, and Post 3 with steady elevation gain. Lunch is served at Shelter 1 (2,550 m). After the break, continue toward Shelter 2 (3,100 m), where the forest transitions into cooler montane vegetation and steeper volcanic terrain.
By late afternoon, you reach Shelter 3 (3,349 m), your campsite for the night. Enjoy a warm dinner, mountain views, and an early night’s rest in preparation for the summit attempt.
Accommodation: Camping at Shelter 3 (tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, warm meals provided)
Day 3 – Summit Push and Descent to Kerinci Town (Breakfast, Lunch)
Wake-up call is at 02.30. After a hot drink and final preparations, the summit climb begins around 04.30. This final ascent is the most challenging part of the trek, involving loose volcanic gravel, cold temperatures, and steep slopes.
You are expected to reach the summit, Indrapura Peak (3,805 m), around 06.00. This is the highest volcano in Southeast Asia and offers panoramic views of Lake Gunung Tujuh, surrounding valleys, active crater areas, and the endless forest of Kerinci Seblat National Park.
After sunrise, descend back to Shelter 3 for breakfast, then continue your descent to the trailhead (approximately 4–5 hours). Once the trek is completed, transfer back to your guesthouse in Kerinci for rest, a hot shower, and relaxation.
Accommodation: Guesthouse in Kerinci
Day 4 – Kerinci to Harau Valley (Breakfast)
Depart Kerinci after breakfast and begin the overland journey to Harau Valley. This drive passes through rural landscapes, tea plantations, and traditional villages.
