A 2-day trip to Nuca Molas (also known as Mules Island) starts from Labuan Bajo. Nuca Molas is an iconic Island and focuses on its “Jurassic Park”-style landscapes, pristine beaches, and quiet atmosphere.

The trip is a combination of adventure to Nuca Molas and Wae Rebo village. This adventure is similar to the days Wae Rebo trip, but this trip includes Nuca Molas and Lowok Beach.

  • Nuca Molas – “Jurassic Park” Landscapes. The island is renowned for its vast, open savannah and rolling hills that give it a prehistoric look, perfect for dramatic photos and sightseeing.
  • Pristine Beaches of Lowok Beach. You’ll visit several beautiful, uncrowded beaches like Lowok Beach and Labuan Taur Beach for swimming, relaxing, or snorkeling in crystal-clear waters.

  • Iconic Lighthouse. The prominent lighthouse is a key landmark and a popular photo spot, standing tall amidst the open grasslands.
Nuca Molas adventure 2 days from Labuan Bajo
  • Shared Accommodation in Wae Rebo Village. You will sleep in a Mbaru Niang (conical traditional house). Expect a communal dormitory-style setup on bamboo mats with basic blankets and pillows provided.
  • Breathtaking Views. The village is surrounded by mist-covered mountains and dense forest, offering spectacular photo opportunities at sunrise.

Detailed itinerary – 2 Days Wae Rebo and Nuca Molas trip.

Day 01. Labuhan Bajo – Denge village – Waerebo village

  • Start the overland trip at 7.30 – 8.30 am Local time.
  • Drive from Labuan Bajo to Denge Village for around 4- 5 hours.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant in Denge village.
  • Ride an Ojek or a motorbike from the parking area for 15 minutes to Pos 1.
  • From Pos 1 to Pos 4, walk for 45 minutes.
  • Walk from Pos 4 to Pos 7, about 1 hour. Walk to the village for 10 minutes.
  • Welcoming ceremony in the chief’s house.
  • Continued by seeing and experiencing the local community’s everyday life.
  • Dinner and stay at Mbaru Niang ( Waerebo traditional circular cone-shaped houses with unique architecture).
  • From Denge to the top of Waerebo Village, hiking will take 2-3 hours, depending on body endurance.

Day 02. Waerebo village – Denge – Nuca Molas – Lowok beac – Labuhan Bajo

  • Enjoy the sunrise.
  • Breakfast with locals.
  • Sightseeing around the Village
  • Trekking down from Waerebo to Pos 1 takes 2 hours. Riding a motorbike or Ojek to the parking area takes 15 minutes.
  • Takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to drive from Denge village to Nuca Molas beach. Enjoy your lunch in a local restaurant in Lembor.
  • After lunch, we will continue the trip to Nuca Molas by boat.
  • Enjoy photo stops from the boat with stunning views of Nuca Molas Island.
  • Explore Lowok Beach.
  • Continue the trip to the Nuca Molas Lighthouse.
  • Return to Labuan Bajo. Estimate 7 to 8 pm.
